How the environments were made

Viddana is based on Sofia Andrukhovych's novel Felix Austria. The story of two foster sisters, the maid Stefania Chornenko and the doctor's daughter Adelia Anger, is set in provincial Austro-Hungary around 1900, in the town of Stanislaviv, now Ivano-Frankivsk. The production chose not to film a period town on location. Instead, it built the setting from scratch at the Nizhylovychi film village outside Kyiv, covering roughly four hectares of land. The build included dozens of houses, shops, municipal buildings and a central square, a market with trading stalls, a schoolyard, a Jewish quarter and the Anger-Skolyk family villa. During a 30-day shoot in 2019, the crew also filmed in Kyiv, Chernivtsi and Bila Tserkva. The production built the villa's interiors as a separate set on a Film.UA soundstage. According to Ukrainian Wikipedia's production section, Postmodern Digital handled the film's post-production. For PostModern Digital, Chumak worked on Viddana as lead concept artist and lead matte painter.
