Credited on 31 film and television productions between 2017 and 2026, with Folks VFX, Pixomondo, PostModern Digital and SnowDog VFX. From Toronto, she leads the studio's matte painting, art direction and concept work.
For film and television, Chumak Studio paints environments. It is a small Toronto practice centred on one artist's credits and the people who keep the work moving.
Anastasiia Chumak paints worlds for a living: vast scenery, epic clouds over mountains above the ocean, futuristic architecture and glow.
Chumak Studio is her practice. She started in Kyiv at PostModern Digital, painting environments for Ukrainian features like Cyborgs and The Stronghold, then for Chinese blockbusters including The Wandering Earth. Thirty-one credits later, her senior matte painter work runs through Pixomondo and Folks VFX on House of the Dragon, The Penguin, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She leads the studio's art direction and concept work from Toronto.
The style is painted light: environments that read as real places the camera happened to find, built to sit invisibly inside the frame. The passion is older than the pipeline. Before the film work there was drawing, and there is still drawing: a decade of box art for Roden Ltd's model kits, and personal pieces like IMMERSIVE, painted for no client at all.
The studio's name is her own, and it carries an old road. The chumaky crossed the night steppe by ox-cart and steered by the Milky Way, which Ukrainians still call the Chumak's Way. She keeps that as the studio's quiet undertone. The stars are for navigation, not decoration.

Visual effects awards are made to a production and to its named visual effects leads, usually the visual effects supervisor, the visual effects producer and the vendor supervisors. They are not made to individual artists. Anastasiia contributed matte painting and environment work to the productions below. The award belongs to the production.
