Talk to the studio

Everything an enquiry needs is on this page: where to write, what to say, and which details save a round trip. The form below goes straight to the studio, and it tells you plainly whether it sent.

Tell us about the work

Three things are needed: your name, an address to answer on, and what the environment has to do. Everything else is optional and can wait for the reply.

The form goes straight to the studio. If you would rather write from your own mail app, or want a copy of what you sent in your own sent folder, the address is anastasiia.chumak@chumak.studio.

Before you write

What helps in the first message

None of it is mandatory. Each line you can answer is a round trip nobody has to spend.

  1. The production. Title, format, and who is making it. If the title cannot be said yet, the format and the period are enough to start.
  2. The shot, in one sentence. What the place is, what the camera does, and what the audience has to believe.
  3. Two dates. When the plates land, and when the cut has to be finished. The gap between them is the answer to most of the other questions.
  4. Delivery spec. Resolution, colour space, and the format your compositors want the work back in.
  5. Paperwork. If something has to be signed before you can describe the show, say that first and send nothing else until it is settled.

Questions

Asked often enough to answer here

What does the studio actually deliver?

Art direction, digital matte painting and concept art are the three at the centre, with 3D environments, visual development, illustration and key art around them. Each one has its own page saying what comes back and in what form.

Do you work with productions outside Canada?

Almost all of the work is. 29 of the 31 credits are on productions that are not Canadian in origin. Between 2017 and 2026 the list covers 12 countries: Belgium, Canada, China, Estonia, France, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, United Kingdom and United States. Every one of them is listed, one page each.

How do I get a real answer on scope and schedule?

Describe the shot before asking for a number. A price quoted before the work is described is a guess, and a guess is worth nothing to either side.

Something has to be signed before I can describe the show. What do I send?

Say that in the first line and send nothing else until the paperwork is settled. A format, a rough shot count and a delivery window are enough to start a conversation without naming the production.

Do you take portfolio submissions or job applications?

No. Everything on this page is for production enquiries.

Where to find the work

The last of these is Anastasiia's own IMDb page. The studio has no entity there yet, so hers is the one a production can check.
